The ideal Fisheries Consultant will have previous experience in fisheries science, with consultancy experience being advantageous. You will have practical experience in conducting and managing fisheries surveys including familiarity with relevant legislative drivers. Desirable qualities include working knowledge of the Water Framework Directive and a technical specialism.
As a Fisheries Consultant you will be working as part of a team on a range of projects, providing specialist fisheries advice - especially regarding fish passage. You will also be responsible for conducting fish passage feasibility assessments, working with engineers to deliver fish pass detailed design and builds. Other duties will include carrying out fish, river and habitat surveys and liaising with stakeholders, regulators and Managers.
