The team work with private and public sector clients, architects, planners and other property professionals across all sectors. They undertake Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies and Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and provide key transport / drainage inputs to develop preliminary designs and spatial plans and masterplans. Their clients include master developers, landowners, housebuilders, retailers, health trusts, universities, local authorities and contractors.
\n \nResponsibilities and duties \nWorking within the Development Planning team the role will be varied and will include, but is not limited to: \n \n·Provide a leading role in the preparation of technical reports and relevant technical analysis associated with Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Flood Risk Assessments \n·Demonstrate a high degree of competency in utilising all design and analytical software when preparing technical reports \n·Utilise CAD to prepare preliminary engineering designs for highway and drainage schemes \n·Liaise with stakeholders \n·Assist the Project Manager in the successful delivery of a project \n·Represent the company at meetings, public consultations and exhibitions \n·Ensure technical content and quality of output produced is in line with the project brief \n·Attend client meetings where required and alongside the Project Manager / Director \n·Provide technical knowledge and leadership to junior members of staff \n·Actively undertake business development for the company \n·Comply with company design, safety, quality, environmental compliance and procedural standards \n·Establish strong working relationships with other internal teams within JPP \nExperience, qualifications and attributes \n·Strong experience in the preparation of development-related Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Access Studies, Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Designs \n·Competent in preparing preliminary highway and drainage designs \n·Comfortable in dealing with clients, local authorities and other regulatory bodies \n·Experience in understanding client briefs, developing fee proposals and delivering project work \n·Excellent presentation, technical writing and analytical skills \n·Membership of a relevant professional institution (CIHT, CILT, TPS, ICE etc) \n·Have a good awareness of relevant design guidance, both at a local and national level \n·Be able to motivate and inspire staff within their team and around them \n·Must be pro-active in self-directed CPD and keep up to date with appropriate design standards and regulatory legislation and relevant policies \n·Must hold a full and clean driving licence \n·Must be prepared to travel UK wide and stay away from home on occasion \nQualifications and training \nStaff will be encouraged to attend continuous professional development training offered to all employees by both internal and external trainers.
